Many thanks…

I can’t tell you how overwhelmed I am at the amount of love/support/concern/etc that my friends have shown for me over the past day & a half.
If you don’t know, on Wednesday afternoon I jacked my neck/head up pretty bad at the gym. I stood up after doing some deadlifts and felt the room spinning. Immediately my head started pounding. I went out to my car and “lost my cookies” a couple of times. After a long night of seeing several doctors and nurses I was told that it sounded like I either had a “mini-stroke or some slow bleeding in my brain”. Not what you want to hear. So, I ended up at the ER. I had a CT scan and everything came back negative. Turns out I just severely aggrivated an old neck injury I had from high school.
I’m feeling much better. I’ve been back to the Dr. and I think I’m cleared to go back to normal. Just having some neck pains & a little sore.
I just want to say thanks to all of the friends from the Creek who have called, emailed, facebooked, and visited. For those who came up to the ER the other night, thanks. Sorry I didn’t talk much…I was kinda out of it.

It’s 11:50 on Sunday. I’ve been through our first service (8:30), taught about 63 high school students in our 2nd service (10am) and right now I’m watching our 3rd service (11:30) on one of our wicked big screens. I’ve spent the weekend moving. I’ve eaten like crap all weekend. I haven’t been to the gym since Wednesday. I’ve had TOO much Sbux this weekend. I’ve got a planning meeting for our college ministry over lunch. I’ve got a Dodgeball Tournament with our student ministries at 5:30PM today. I’m WIPED OUT!!!!
I’m an idiot and I’ve over-scheduled myself.
Thank God for Monday OFF!!!!!!!!!

Ahhh, the joys of moving. I HATE moving…but I LOVE the result. We’ve been blessed with a great rental house as we’ve come back into the AUG. But alas, it’s time to move on. We are moving into a great home. I’ll post some pics later, but to let you know it was a house that was bought, gutted & renovated on the inside & out. So basically we are moving into a BRAND NEW house! SWEET!
If you and yours are looking for something to do on Saturday (yes, I realize that I’m moving on the opening day of college football! I plan to be done by kickoff!) come on by. Meet up at 476 Fairfield Way in Evans @ 9AM. I’ll stick a Panera bagel in your mouth and a couch in your hands to load up! We’ll feed you lunch too.
My RANT about my GREAT night (Just read it, it will make sense.)

So, tonight I went to eat @ Panera Bread with my 2 girls. Melissa’s out of town, so we gotta go somewhere! Shelby LOVES Panera and has been crying for it for months. She’s burnt out on Moe’s.
Here’s the deal…we had a GREAT time as you can see in the pics below…
It was fun just hanging out with my girls. They are so sweet & so funny.
As much fun as we had, I have some “thoughts” on Panera. Here goes…
- It’s waaaay too much coin for way too little food. I paid over $16 for: a grilled cheese sand, a tube of yogurt, a salad, a cup of soup, 2 pieces of bread & 1 small drink. What the heck!?!?
- Panera is GREAT for b’fast. Cheap & good bagels. Good b’fast sandwiches. Decent coffee. But it blows for anything else.
- They have free WiFi which is good.
- Here’s what I learned from Panera tonight: they create an ENVIRONMENT that people want to be in & an EXPERIENCE that people want to have. And folks PAY for the two.
- How can we create those two things in the church. We have the “bread of life” yet we don’t package it as well as Panera.
- Lesson learned…but I’m still hungry.
My Saturday Morning

Today I woke up with my ENTIRE FAMILY in my bed. Don’t know how or at what hour that happened. Welcome to life with kids. Thank goodness we have a king size bed.
Got up and hit my local Sbux around 8. Tall Pike w/ Room. It’s like sweet nectar of the gods. There’s nothing like a Sat AM @ sbux with my ipod in, reading this week’s Metro Spirit.
After that, I came home for breakfast with the family. We all hung out in the living room eating and watching reruns of our favorite family show Reba. I know it’s lame. What’s even worse is that we have our DVR set to record EVERY HONKIN’ EPISODE during the week.
A GREAT Saturday morning. How was yours?
