Great way to spend a Saturday

October 17, 2009 · Leave a Comment

The Lloyd family spent today TOGETHER.  It seems like it’s been awhile since I could say that.

We were on a mission to create our “fall scene” for the front yard.  So we all worked together to make this happen.  Each of us fulfilled our unique roll in executing the mission.  Shelby was the mastermind and designer.  Sydney was our energy when we got tired.  Melissa was our CFO and kept us within budget.  Me…well…I was the muscle.  Meaning I carried everything to the car and set it up.

Here are a couple of pics from the completed product.

So in the AM we move into our new pad. It’s sick. Here are some pics. I’ll have more once we move in. For now you see it bare bones. Enjoy…

Movin’ On Up

August 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Ahhh, the joys of moving. I HATE moving…but I LOVE the result. We’ve been blessed with a great rental house as we’ve come back into the AUG. But alas, it’s time to move on. We are moving into a great home. I’ll post some pics later, but to let you know it was a house that was bought, gutted & renovated on the inside & out. So basically we are moving into a BRAND NEW house! SWEET!

If you and yours are looking for something to do on Saturday (yes, I realize that I’m moving on the opening day of college football! I plan to be done by kickoff!) come on by. Meet up at 476 Fairfield Way in Evans @ 9AM. I’ll stick a Panera bagel in your mouth and a couch in your hands to load up! We’ll feed you lunch too.

The Bright Spot

August 27, 2008 · Leave a Comment

So I came home for a few minutes during a CRAZY day of prepping for theMIX and putting out fires. I won’t lie, I’m stressed. This is what greeted me when I came in the door.

God always just somehow knows what you need & when you need it. I can never get enough of my Syd’s smile.

My RANT about my GREAT night (Just read it, it will make sense.)

August 27, 2008 · 1 Comment

So, tonight I went to eat @ Panera Bread with my 2 girls. Melissa’s out of town, so we gotta go somewhere! Shelby LOVES Panera and has been crying for it for months. She’s burnt out on Moe’s.

Here’s the deal…we had a GREAT time as you can see in the pics below…

It was fun just hanging out with my girls.  They are so sweet & so funny.

As much fun as we had, I have some “thoughts” on Panera. Here goes…

  • It’s waaaay too much coin for way too little food. I paid over $16 for: a grilled cheese sand, a tube of yogurt, a salad, a cup of soup, 2 pieces of bread & 1 small drink. What the heck!?!?
  • Panera is GREAT for b’fast. Cheap & good bagels. Good b’fast sandwiches. Decent coffee. But it blows for anything else.
  • They have free WiFi which is good.
  • Here’s what I learned from Panera tonight: they create an ENVIRONMENT that people want to be in & an EXPERIENCE that people want to have. And folks PAY for the two.
  • How can we create those two things in the church. We have the “bread of life” yet we don’t package it as well as Panera.
  • Lesson learned…but I’m still hungry.

5:00PM

I usually leave the church every day around 5:00PMish. Sometimes later…rarely earlier. I love my work, but I love to get home.

Everyday when I get home, this is the greeting that I get that makes it all worthwhile…

Nuff said.

Bathtime

Every night comes the inevitable. Bathtime. I love it. I love watching my girls have a blast and soak the entire bathroom, including whoever is bathing them! Tonight after bath Shelby was modeling her “post-tub attire”.

My Saturday Morning

August 17, 2008 · 1 Comment

Today I woke up with my ENTIRE FAMILY in my bed. Don’t know how or at what hour that happened. Welcome to life with kids. Thank goodness we have a king size bed.

Got up and hit my local Sbux around 8. Tall Pike w/ Room. It’s like sweet nectar of the gods. There’s nothing like a Sat AM @ sbux with my ipod in, reading this week’s Metro Spirit.

After that, I came home for breakfast with the family. We all hung out in the living room eating and watching reruns of our favorite family show Reba. I know it’s lame. What’s even worse is that we have our DVR set to record EVERY HONKIN’ EPISODE during the week.

A GREAT Saturday morning. How was yours?
